A lively group attended our high school dance at the LaQuinta Inn in Springfield and enjoyed a yummy dinner consisting of a pasta station and a taco station with sweet cupcakes for dessert. Music was provided by a DJ and I even got out on the dance floor with staff and students for a couple line dances! A fun time was had by all.

Thank you to our Teachers, Nurse, and Learning Coaches!

Today marks the end of National Teacher Appreciation Week and last Saturday was National Nurses’ Day. I am so grateful to Ms. Booth, our School Nurse, and to our teachers for the amazing work they do with our students every day. I am privileged to work with such a caring group of individuals who work tirelessly to ensure that all our students receive the best education possible.
I also want to thank all of our Parents/Guardians/Learning Coaches for your partnership with us. You also engage with our students as their teachers at home, helping to guide them through their classes and assignments. We understand that your commitment to partner with us is greater than it might be in a brick-and-mortar school and we are grateful and want to also celebrate you as teachers this week!

MAVA’s Arcade Outing on May 18th for grades K-5

Inspired by “Caine’s Arcade,” we are hosting our own MAVA Arcade to spark imagination and creativity by using cardboard and recycled materials (including parts of old toys) to create games. We look forward to seeing our K-5 students at the Charlton Public Library, 40 Main Street, Charlton, MA, for an interactive session that helps build critical thinking, resourcefulness, perseverance, and team work skills.
Families are encouraged to bring recyclable materials to this event and we will provide some supplies and tools to help build these games. If you’d like to learn more about the concept behind this outing, you can check out this web site: http://cainesarcade.com/
