Online Educational Programs and Schools for Every Kind of Learner

Message from the Principal

Welcome to the Greater Commonwealth Virtual School! I am honored and grateful to be part of the leadership of this dynamic school community.

In an ever changing world, GCVS has so much to offer our students and families. We provide classroom-based live programs for students that work well in a structured environment outside of a traditional school and flexible programs for those who succeed better when they are able to work on their own time and in their own space. Both of these programs require daily dedication to learning from our staff as well as students, learning coaches and families.

Students come to GCVS for a variety of reasons and we strive to guide students to their own personal level of success. We provide excellent levels of support and services for our students through our central office staff, enrollment, information services, family and student engagement, counseling, special education, the wellness team, leadership at all school levels, and of course, our Massachusetts state-certified teachers.

As a GCVS parent, I have witnessed firsthand the care and connection that GCVS teachers build with their students. Whether it be in the classroom or in a school sponsored after school club, the teachers are the backbone of our school community, committed to providing the best educational experience for our students.

Come as you are to GCVS, it is a great place to learn and to grow.

Andrew Costa
Principal, GCVS

Flexible Education Programs (Grades 6-12)

Personalized Learning for All

The flexibility of a personalized, asynchronous learning program can have profound benefits for students who have not succeeded in a traditional brick-and-mortar school, beliefs that have a structure that interferes with a normal school day, or have outside interests that often have conflicting schedules.

The entirely asynchronous online curriculum is as rigorous as the classroom-based schools at GCVS, but offers unmatched flexibility in helping students succeed.
