Subject Matter Experts
GCVS teachers are also subject matter expert, which means they have a deep understanding of subjects they teach and how to explain them to curious young minds.
In the elementary school, their knowledge of reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies can guide students into deeper exploration of the topics at hand. In the middle and high school levels, teachers have specialized and are passionate about the individual subjects they teach.
A thorough knowledge of their subjects means teachers are able to approach teaching based on student needs, and can change approaches as needed. This leads to a higher level of personalized learning and more student success.
Teacher Qualifications
GCVS teachers are all fully licensed teacher by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and meets the following requirements and more:
- Earned a Bachelor’s degree or more
- Passed Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) exams
- Has a Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
- Passed an approved educator preparation program in Massachusetts or a program that is recognized by the state
