GCVS Newsletter Issue 10
A message from the Executive Director
Dear GCVS family,
Congratulations on making it into the homestretch of the school year! Time has flown by and it’s always amazing to look back on everything we’ve accomplished together.
We’ve opened up registration for returning students for the 2019-2020 school year. I know many of you have been asking about this. To start the re-registration process, all you need to do is fill out the Intent to Return form, located here. This will reserve your spot for the fall.
Soon after filling out that form, you’ll receive instructions on how to finalize your registration. We’re trying to keep it as straightforward as possible for you, and your feedback is always welcome. If you know of anyone who is interested in enrolling as a new student, that registration form is nearly ready.
Our high school students had a fantastic time at the yearly high school dance, and seniors are looking forward to celebrating their graduation next week. This is a milestone accomplishment for every student, and we’re very proud of everyone and the work they have put in to get to this point. The week after graduation, the whole school will be able to celebrate together at our annual picnic, and I hope you’ll be able to join us!
Keep your eyes on this newsletter, too. We have a few announcements we’re almost ready to make about new programs. We want you to be among the first to hear about them. If you have any questions, please reach out to us and ask. We’re happy to help.
All the best,
NOW OPEN: Re-Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year
Thank you for your patience with regards to re-registering your student(s) for the 2019-2020 school year.
If your student is returning to GCVS for the 2019-2020 school year, the first step in reserving your spot for the next school year is filling out the Intent to Return form. Once you fill that out, you will receive a follow-up email that details the final steps to complete re-registration.
Click here to fill out your Intent to Return form.
If your student is returning to GCVS for the 2019-2020 school year, you should keep the Chromebook over the summer for the next school year. If your student will not be attending the next school year, you will be emailed instructions on how to return the Chromebook to us.
Remember, if your student continues to use the Chromebook over the summer, all protections such as content filters, monitoring, the Student Safety Management System will remain in effect and violations of school policy will result in disciplinary action.
Our technology team has put together some best practices for storing your Chromebook over the summer here.
High School Graduation – June 7
The GCVS Class of 2019 will be graduating on June 7 at Greenfield Community College! Graduation ceremonies start at 6:00 p.m. and there will be time for photos and refreshments following the celebration.
Join us in congratulating the Class of 2019, and if you’re in the area, please come and celebrate their success!
Save the Date for the End-of-Year Picnic – June 13
GCVS Grades K-12 will celebrate the end of the year on the last day of school with the annual End-of-Year Picnic at Dean Park in Shrewsbury!
This is a great time to meet up with your friends and your teachers, and take part in fun activities like volleyball, a kickball game, or bubblemaking. This is a relaxed meet-up, and we will share more information about it soon.
Annual High School Dance
May 17, 2019
Our annual High School Dance on May 17 at the La Quinta in Springfield was a great time for all of the high school students and staff who attended! We had a taco and pasta bar, cupcake tower and the students even participated in a lip sync battle and dance off. One of our students even performed with our music teacher, singing and playing the ukelele. It was a great night!
Check out our photo gallery from the dance!
