We are hosting three orientation sessions tomorrow: 9:00 am, 2:00 pm, and 6:00 pm. The same information will be given at all three sessions, so there is only a need to attend one of them. Parents were sent an invitation to sign up for a time and emails just went out to notify them of how to access the session. If for some reason you believe you signed up but did not get an email, it may be due to the fact that we were not able to link you to our database of emails (for example, signing up with a first name only). If that’s the case, please send an email to info@gcvs.org with your name and time you signed up for and we will send you the link. We will have information about our new platforms and some ideas that you can do at home to get ready for the new school year. If you are unable to attend a session, we will record them and post the best of the recordings to this web site for you to view.

New Year – New Challenges – You got this!

This summer, I climbed Cadillac Mountain at Acadia National Park in Maine. While not an especially tall mountain, it was a challenge, but this photo shows I made it with the help of my trekking poles! They gave me the support I needed when the going got tough.

Every new school year brings its share of nervousness and challenges. At MAVA, we stand ready to support our students and help them when the going gets tough. We have a lot of new tools this year for our students and learning coaches, and it will take some time for everyone to get used to them. The first few days of school will be devoted to helping everyone become oriented to all of the changes. We know it will be a challenge, as is the case with learning anything new! There will be learning challenges all throughout the school year. We have terrific students and wonderful learning coaches and we know you can do it! You got this!

Your teachers and the rest of the staff at MAVA have been working very hard all summer to get things ready. We’re excited for school to start! Remember, the first day of school is August 30th. There will be lots of information to share over the next week or so – stay tuned!
