The 2016-17 school year is “in the books” and we are already gearing up for 2017-18! Our teachers met for three days after the students were dismissed and grades finalized to get training on our new learning management system, Canvas, and the content they are building to be in line with the Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks. They will also be working all summer long to build everything that’s needed for our students so we will be ready to go on August 30th.

A bid proposal for computers will be going out later this week, so those of you needing them will get more information on that in July. If you currently use a K12 or MAVABook computer, that computer must be returned in order to receive a new one. Please make sure you keep documentation of it being shipped back so we can verify that return. Families that received MAVABooks should have gotten an email today with information about how to return them.

Checks will be mailed out by the end of this week for Internet reimbursement for those who are eligible. Thank you for your patience as we work through this process. Report cards are being prepared for mailing this week, as well.

We are still processing registrations for next school year. Be sure to go to our new web site: www.massvirtualacademy.org and click on the link for new or returning students, as appropriate.

As soon as we have more news about our progress, we will update everyone. We have the most recent emails from our families, so we will be continuing to email everyone and posting updates to this website after K12 ends their operations at the close of business on Friday.

I hope everyone is enjoying what is a beautiful start to the summer! We look forward to working with you in the new school year.

Regards, Dr. Judith Houle, Executive Director
